The Reverend Canon Jamal Khader, and, The Reverend Canon Rafic Nahra

On Friday 11th March 2022, the Holy Father appointed The Reverend Canon Jamal Khader, Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan assigning him the titular See of Patara, and The Reverend Canon Rafic Nahra, priest of the Archdiocese of Paris, Patriarchal Vicar for Israel, assigning him the titular See of Verbe.
Auxillary Bishop Khader will continue to reside in Amman Jordan, having previously and most recently served in Ramallah, in the Occupied Territories of Palestine.
Members of our Lieutenancy will recall meeting Fr Khader, during the 2016 Pilgrimage, when he held the position of Rector of the Latin Patriarchate Seminary in Beit Jala, Bethlehem.
Auxillary Bishop Nahra was born in Lebanon, served as a Patriarchal Vicar for the Hebrew Catholics and the co-ordinator for the Pastoral of Migrants from 2017 to 2021, and Patriarchal Vicar of Nazareth from August 2021 to March 2022.
Auxillary Bishop Nahra speaks five languages Arabic, Hebrew, French, English and Italian. He will continue to reside in Nazareth.
