Confrère John died on Friday 4th March 2022, aged 96, at his home, of old age, in peace and quiet in the company of his children at his bedside.
John was a Harvard graduate and prominent business consultant who spent the majority of his life and all of his career outside of Ireland; in New York, Geneva and Dussledorf.
It was in New York that he met and married Philomena Burke from Galway. Following retirement in 2010, John and Philomena returned to London to be close to their children and grandchildren.
John was admitted as a member of the Order in 1996, into the Lieutenancy of Ireland and was predeceased by his late wife, Dame Philomena, DCHS in 2017, aged 92.
Chevalier John and Dame Philomena received their Pilgrim Shells whilst on Pilgrimage in October 1996 and participated also in the Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome to meet Pope St. John Paul II in March 2000.
