Today, Sunday 11 June, on the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), Ireland’s new Apostolic Nuncio, His Excellency Archbishop Luis Mariano Montemayor, attended a liturgical reception at Saint Mary’s Pro Cathedral, Dublin, during 11.00am Mass.

In attendance were parishioners, clergy, members of the Diplomatic Corps, Provincials and Superiors of Religious Orders as well as representatives of the Association of Papal Orders in Ireland, Knights of Columbanus, Order of Malta and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre – Lieutenancy of Ireland.

Archbishop Montemayor is the fifteenth Apostolic Nuncio appointed to Ireland since diplomatic relationships were established with the Holy See in 1929.

Since that time all of the Apostolic Nuncios have been received in the Pro-Cathedral.
