From Chevalier Donnacha Fahy, KHS a member of the Lieutenancy of Ireland:
This Tuesday morning detailing his experience in Jerusalem and participation in the celebration of Holy Mass by the Franciscans in the empty tomb of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
Good Morning. I have had a very busy and beautiful morning. It would have been the middle of the night in Dublin for you. I have attached a few photos as I made my way around the Church of the Holy Sepulchre this morning.
I set off in the middle of the night walking dressed in my knight’s cloak and hat through the long dark halls of the Latin Patriarchate. I was the only person up at this time . The only sound was my footsteps . It had rained during the night as I exited the building and walked the narrow empty streets of Jerusalem.
Floods of water accompanied me as I made my pilgrimage, arriving at the Holy Sepulchre in the darkness, I could hear the Armenians celebrating Mass. I made my way past the Holy Annointing Stone slab where Christ was laid out; passed Golgotha and the chapels to my right, walking to where the Francisians who were waiting on the wings of the empty tomb with Altar in hand to set up for the morning Mass . But first they must get the all clear from the Armenians.
