Joseph (Joe) Connolly, KCHS, admitted 1995

Confrère Joe who died on 3rd November 2021, aged 91, was the beloved husband for 64 years of our Consœur Rona. Together they lived at Donacarney House, Drogheda, County Meath. He was deeply committed to both the economic and social development of Drogheda and East Meath and served on the Board of Drogheda Harbour Commissioners.
Joe was a very faithful member of the Order and was admitted in 1995 on the nomination of the then Grand Prior, Archbishop Thomas Morris. He participated in the Order Jubilee Millennium Pilgrimage to Rome in the year 2000. Both he and Rona participated in our sixth Pilgrimage to the Holy Land from the 22nd to 29th September 2007.
Joe had a major involvement in the establishment of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration both in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Joe was buried in the grounds of Mornington Church, near Drogheda. The church was built on land that he and Rona donated some years previously. His devotion to the Divine Mercy and St. Faustina will ensure his welcome in Heaven.
Our condolences to Dame Rona, their children Aislinn, Karen, Michele, Clodagh, Joseph and extended family and friends.
