On Saturday 12th November 2022 the Lieutenancy’s Annual Day of Reflection in honour of Our Lady Queen of Palestine was held at the Dominican Retreat Centre, Dublin.
Fr. Francis Mitchell, our Ecclesiastical Master of Ceremonies, gave us a very enlightening presentation on the Sunday Gospels for the Season of Advent and reminded members that Advent, like Easter, is penitential – a time of penance. We were reminded also of the reassurance of Matthew’s Gospel which begins with reference to Emmanuel “God is with us” and closes with the reassuring words of Jesus “I am with you always, until the close of the Age”.
Holy Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Bill O’Shaughnessy, assisted by Deacon Derek Leonard, during which deceased members of the Lieutenancy were remembered by name and prayed for.
Following lunch, Members of Council gave an introductory presentation to Aspirants.
