During the Lieutenancy pilgrimage to Knock Shrine 14-15 February, Dr Frank Hurl’s recently published book on heraldry was officially launched by His Grace Archbishop Francis Duffy KC*HS.

‘An Irish Armorial’ is an exposition on the heraldry of our Order, with about forty Coats of Arms of members of the Lieutenancy from 1986 to 2025.
It also has a chapter with around fifty Arms belonging to Knights and Dames from the Irish diaspora.
The book begins with the heraldry of those in authority in the Order in Rome and Jerusalem, and ends with the heraldry of Irish recipients of the Order’s Cross of Merit.
