Beginning of the 400th anniversary of the birth of St Oliver Plunkett

Sunday 29 June, 2025, we have been invited by our Confrere Vy Rev’d Mark MOHAN, KCHS, to attend the celebration of the Eucharist to mark the beginning of the 400th anniversary of the birth of St Oliver Plunkett in Loughcrew (eircode A82 X4YI), Oldcastle, the birthplace of Saint Oliver.

Parking shall be available in an adjacent field.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Canonisation of St Oliver by Pope Saint Paul VI in 1975 . The ceremonies shall be led by Bishop Tom Deenihan, KC*HS, Bishop of Meath, accompanied by the Primate, Archbishop Eamon Martin.

Cloaks will be worn, Please advise Rodney Leonard at email at roddyleonard@yahoo.com by Friday 20 June, if you propose to attend. You should attend by 2.30pm and seat as directed by Rodney. There will be refreshments served after the celebration of Mass.
